Seats for Forklifts Paterson

Seats for Forklifts Paterson - Paterson (population 146,199) is a city in New Jersey. It is located between the Appalachian foothills and the Coastal Plain within the Piedmont region. Paterson serves as the county seat of Passaic County. It is the 3rd largest city in the state and part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. New York City is 48 km to the east. The city's population has decreased by 2 percent ever since 2000. Paterson was a planned community, referred to as "Silk City" because of the significance of silk production there during the latter part of the 19th century.

The city's existence started in the year 1792, in the minds of a group of investors called the Society of Useful Manufactures (or Sum). The group wanted to raise money to be able to develop a planned industrial city that would reduce the nation's dependence on foreign products by supporting American industry. Paterson was to be planned around a waterfall, referred to as the Great Falls of the Passaic, that will provide power to new industries to be built around it. Paterson was soon a reality, with numerous textile mills and other buildings being constructed. It wasn't long before other businesses, like for instance firearms, railroad locomotive manufacturing and silk production, followed suit. Paterson became incorporated as a city in the year 1851, and the production of silk eventually became the main trade. Paterson enjoyed a thriving industrial time, being referred to as "Silk City". After a devastating fire in 1902, Paterson's downtown had to be rebuilt.

Paterson has a unique attraction, an 1893 historic building called Lambert Castle. The Medieval Revival-style castle was the home of famous silk mill owner Catholina Lambert. The Castle was turned into a Museum following a multi-million dollar restoration in the late 1990s.

Paterson is extremely ethnically diverse, and the annual calendar is full of opportunities to celebrate. All summer long, parades happen on the city streets, among them, an African-American Day Parade, a Dominican Day Parade, a Puerto Rican Day Parade and a Turkish-American Day Parade. The city's Peruvian community has a 10-day festival and a Peruvian Parade during October known as "El Seņor de los Milagros" (or "Our Lord of Miracles").

Downtown Paterson has numerous Beaux-Arts-style buildings and other architectural landmarks. These massive buildings are usually no more than seven stories in height. The commercial district of the city was once frequented by shoppers from all over the norther part of New Jersey. Two of the city's architectural landmarks are the Paterson City Hall and the Passaic County Courthouse Annex.
