Seats for Forklifts McAllen - The city of McAllen, Texas is situated practically 5 miles from the Mexican border in the Rio Grande Valley. The valley and West Texas have been connected through Route 83. Other main highways that serve the area are the Texas State Highway 107 and US Route 281. The Miller International Airport is the nearest airport to the city of McAllen, that provides flights to Houston and Dallas City, and several other places within the region.

The city was initially established by John McAllen as West McAllen in 1904. A different group of developers established East McAllen soon after and they joined together in 1911 when McAllen City was incorporated. The Free Trade Zone that was implicated during the 1970's caused the rapid expansion of industrial manufacturing and trade. Much more work were created in the 1990's when the North American Free Trade Agreement passed. The city has become home to several national companies over the past three decades and is considered the regional leader in government and commerce.

One of the most interesting facilities within Mc Allen City is the International Museum of Art and Science. Various different exhibits are held during the year, including a Mexican arts and craft exhibit in the North Gallery, a long term exhibit of dinosaur tracts at the Earth Science Gallery, and a working meteorological display. Located at the Museum of South Texas History are several artifacts and exhibits cataloging the complete history of Southern Texas, including Spanish colonization and exploration, early farming and ranching, the Mexican War and Rio Grande Steamboat era. The Quinta Mazatlan, the McAllen Wing of the World Birding Center, caters to nature lovers. Their sole objective is to preserve the 1930's adobe estate and the native animals and plants from the area. The Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge houses some animals, birds, and waterfowl from around the Rio Grande Valley. The Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park offers over five hundred acres of woodlands for ambitious campers, picnickers and hikers.

In the Rio Grande Valley, there are three regional sports teams situated here. The Edinburg Coyotes are an independent minor league baseball team based out of Edinburg. From Hidalgo comes the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, a professional ice hockey team. Also from Hidalgo is a professional football team, the Rio Grande Valley Dorados.
