Seats for Forklifts Lakewood

Seats for Forklifts Lakewood - Lakewood, Colorado is the most heavily populated city within Jefferson County. It is considered the state of Colorado's fifth most densely inhabited city. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the population Lakewood to be 142,980 as of the 1st of April, the year 2010. Lakewood is part of the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and is situated west of the city of Denver.

Before its incorporation during the year 1969, Lakewood was policed by the Jefferson County Sherriff. They had few sidewalks and street lights at that time and were looked after by a volunteer fire service. During 1969, Lakewood became incorporated. The population of the city was already more than 90,000 at the time of incorporation.

The biggest employers within the city are government, though the economy within Lakewood is diverse. A medical devices manufacturer referred to as CaridianBCT employs over 1600 people and the Jefferson County R-1 school district employs about 3930 individuals.

Lakewood has never really had a conventional downtown area, with most of the commercial establishment is established on West Colfax Avenue from Harlan west to Kipling and beyond. In addition, the JCRS or the Jewish Consumptive Relief Society for TB patients, along with the small frame Methodist Church was among the first major establishments within the area. By the 1950s, drug stores, gas stations, taverns and restaurants, grocery stores, a bowling alley, a movie theatre, several motels and used car lots emerged.

There were a variety of strip mall "shopping centers," which were home to multi-business establishments that sprang up. These were followed by a lot larger complexes at JCRS and Westland. The Villa Italia Mall on Alameda Boulevard, situated 20 blocks south of Colfax, reflected the southward development of the Lakewood settlement. It was home to a bigger region of retail property. After the mall went into decline, the Lakewood City Council devised a plan to take down the Villa Italia Mall and replace it with a new development called Belmar.

Lakewood High School is home to an International Baccalaureate school in the county of Jefferson. Moreover, Alameda High School is also an International Baccalaureate or I.B. School. There is the Colorado Christian University located within Lakewood as well.
