Seats for Forklifts Thornton

Seats for Forklifts Thornton - Thornton, Colorado is located in both Adams and Weld counties. Officially, it is a suburb of the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. About 10 miles southwest of the city of Thornton lies the capital of the state, the city of Denver. The population was recorded by the United States Census Bureau as being roughly 118,770 on the 1st of April, the year 2010. This is roughly 44 percent increase from the year 2000 census, where the population was about 82,380. The city of Thornton is the 6th most populous city within the state of Colorado and the 213th most populated city in the country.

Thornton was literally just a farmland until the year 1953. During that year, Sam Hoffman purchased a piece of land just outside Denver in which he laid plans for a community. It was the first of its kind in the County of Adams, as well as the first which provided full municipal services off a single tax levy. The name of the city was selected in order to honor Dan Thornton, Former Colorado Governor.

To be able to help guide the development of the new community, the Thornton community Association (TCA) was formed. By 1955, over 5,500 people resided in the city of Thornton within approximately 1,200 homes. In 1956 Thornton was incorporated, due mainly in part to the TCA. The very first mayor of the city was a City Council candidate, G. Leary. Brian Thornton, is unrelated to the Governor.

Situated all around the city of Thornton are 80 parks covering 2,000 acres of land. There are also many biking and running trails all over Thornton. Combined together they stretch more than 80 miles. There are numerous recreational complexes in the city of Thornton, like for instance the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center and the Thornton Community Center. There are also three main golf courses within the city: Heritage Todd Creek Golf Club, Riverdale Knolls Golf Course and Thorncreek Golf Course.

The city of Denver is home to lots of historic sites such as the Colorado Governor's Mansion, the Denver Mint and the Colorado State Capitol. What's more, there is the Forney Museum of Transportation, which features a variety of antique carriages, automobiles, trains and bicycles. Some of the other nearby attractions comprise Park Hill Golf Park, Denver Zoo and Grasmer Lake and Holly Park. In the month of September, the city hosts the Harvest Fest and the Winterfest in the month of December.
