Seats for Forklifts Olathe - Olathe is a city within the state of Kansas. It serves as the county seat of Johnson County, in the northeastern part of the state. With a population of just more than a quarter million, Olathe is the fourth-biggest city in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The city of Olathe is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.
The city was a stopping point along the Oregon Trail, the California Trail and the Santa Fe Trail and is recognized as the cowboy capital. The community derive its name from the Shawnee word that means beautiful. Dr. John T. Barton founded the city of Olathe in the year 1857 and it became the county seat two years after that. Welcoming the travelers was the city's foremost purpose and main source of earnings. Local stores and businesses sprung up to cater to people going westward. A well-known resupply point for wagons was the Mahaffie House, which the City of Olathe presently operates as a registered historical location staffed by individuals in period costumes. Adding to the realism are farm animals and stagecoach rides. Re-enactments of the Wild West Days and the Civil War take place there.
The city's Adam Legler Barn Museum consists of a restored stone barn which dates as far back as 1864. The Harry S. Truman National Historic Site features more of the region's local history. Among the largest urban parks in the US, Swope Park is where visitors could tour all-over the Heart of America Golf Course.
With such businesses like for example Honeywell, Husqvarna, ALDI, Garmin and Grundfos, the city of Olathe has developed a good commercial and industrial base. Another significant source of work is the Air Route Traffic Control Center (designated ZKC) administered by the United States Department of Transportation. Johnson County Executive Airport, in the city of Olathe, is amongst the busiest in the state of Kansas.
