 Seats for Forklifts Irving - The city of Irving, Texas is a bustling metropolis situated in the Irving-Dallas-Plano division of the Arlington-Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Irving has an estimated population of roughly 215,000 people, according to the latest 2010 census. Among the very first master-planned developments of the United States, the Las Colinas area, is located in Irving. It is spread out over 12,000 acres and was once the biggest mixed-use development in the Southwest. The Mustangs at Las Colinas, the world's largest horse sculpture, is situated within this area. The Irving Convention Center was built in Las Colinas in January the year 2011. The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is also within the city limits.
The area was originally settled in the early 1850's with the city being established by J.O. Schulze and Otis Brown during the year 1902. There were several other smaller communities which existed in the region, like Sowers, Kit Shady Grove, Union Bower, Finley, Bear Creek and Estelle, but they were all merged together to form Irving in 1903. On April 14, 1914 the city was incorporated officially.
The two original founders of the city were both employed by the Gulf, Chicago and Rock Island Railway. After arriving within the area to survey a railroad route between Fort Worth and the city of Dallas in the year 1902, they acquired the 80 acres owned by the Britain family and began to build the city. On the 19th of December, the year 1903 the very first town lots were acquired at a public auction. In 1904, the post office from Kit was relocated to the city.
The city of Irving is a flourishing business centre with thousands of companies and six Fortune-500 international headquarters. There are hundreds of breathtaking skyscrapers, particularly within Valley Ranch and Las Colinas. These two developments have recently experienced fast growth, that makes it a truly desired location for possible inhabitants. There are some business advantages to residing right next to the the city of Dallas and Fort Worth. Moreover, the airport is near and convenient. The only five-diamond rating resort within Texas State is situated within Irving.
The Dallas Cowboys played at the Texas Stadium from 1971 until it was demolished during the year 2008. The area is zoned for a large mixed-used project right beside the State Highway 114. Forest City Enterprises, that is the lead developer on the project, is currently rehabilitating the Mercantile complex situated in Dallas. They intend to refurbish it into a Rockefeller Centre-style multiple-use project.
Irving's residents and visitors are able to enjoy an assortment of fantastic sports facilities, restaurants and attractions. Other great activities are just minutes away in Dallas and Fort Worth.
