He did say the fire involved a train
Flames from a fire burning along CN Rail lines on the Tk'emlups Indian Reserve lit up the sky Tuesday night as firefighters attacked the blaze that charred a mobile home trailer and two vehicles.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue battalion chief John Anhorn had few details at press time. He did say the fire involved a train, although he did not know what kind of goods were in the cars.
About 20 Kamloops firefighters were at the scene near Kootenay Way, where billows of black smoke began rising some time after 9 p.m. They fended off flames from one home, where the owners were also spraying the fire with garden hoses.
B.C. Ambulance was called in to deal with people suffering from smoke inhalation.
Elise Riedlinger, with the B.C. Forestry Service, said an initial attack crew and forests officer were sent in to assist the City firefighters.
"There's fire along the railway. That's all we know."
